Artist and a-ha musician Magne Furuholmen creates a 3,000-square-metre artwork on tarmac that invites everyone to get involved
It started with one man who couldn't say no. Now Skøyen has a red bench, a 3,000-square-metre street mural, and a whole new reputation.
"It's Pål Reenskaug's total lack of boundary-setting that's the starting point for this becoming a project," says Magne Furuholmen, standing in painting clothes and rolling out a gigantic letter I on Skøyen.

Launching Smallbox Magazine
We are launching Smallbox Magazine as a print magazine. The first issue will be unveiled at the Skøyen Design Festival on September 4–5, 2026. We believe the time is right to take a step back and rediscover the magic of the print magazine. The experience of flipping through the pages, feeling the scent of the paper, and letting yourself be captivated by the various stories—completely undisturbed by the digital world—is something we believe offers a moment of calm. It makes everything else pause for a second. We think it’s important to make room for these small moments of stillness in everyday life.
